Never Cease to Praise

This is a song by Jeff Bourque, the music pastor at our church. We sang it yesterday, and it reminded me of a goal I have for this year: to praise instead of complain. Sounds easy, right?! I hate to admit it, but whining seems to come more easily. It's the small things that get me grumbling...the never ending laundry, the 4:20 am poopy diapers, the squabbles in the backseat, the chocolate milk that was spilled and left to rot...normal (I think?!?) life stuff. By His grace, my aim is to turn my frown upside-down. : ) May my grumbling turn to praise...thank you, Lord for clothes to wash and keep my children warm. Thank you, Lord for the gifts of my children and the sweet dimpled hands that pat my back when lifted from the crib at 4:20am. Thank you for a car and again (and again and again...) for my babies - for the opportunity to share Christ with them in the aftermath of squabbles. Thank you that we have food to nourish our bodies and a floor to clean. Thanks and praise to Him!

Never Cease to Praise

May we run this race, may we keep the faith; May our eyes be fixed on Jesus-

That we'll not lose heart in our struggle with sin, And through suffering know endurance.

May we arm ourselves with the mind of Christ-To rejoice in trials and be not surprised.

May our hearts be so consumed by You That we never cease to praise!

May the words we share be Your grace and peace; May our tongues speak Your proclamations-

That the many parts of the body of Christ Be affirmed in their right relation.

As we long and wait for the groom to come, May we learn to love, and spur each other on.

May our hearts be so consumed by You That we never cease to praise!

When that day arrives, and the race is won, When our griefs give way to deliverance.

We will fully know as we're fully known, All our groans will end as new songs begin.

And a multitude from every tribe and tongue, Wearing robes of white, will stand before Your throne,
