Why the crazy is worth it

Opening our first Little Caesars has been quite the ride. Somewhat long. A little bumpy. A lot stretchy - emotionally, financially, physically, spiritually. Pretty much a trip to Magic Mountain (ahh, that ghetto place in SoCal...can't remember why I thought it was so super fun...I must be getting old).

Tonight, I am so grateful to share with you 2 instances which demonstrate why the ride is worth the crazy! Thank you, God, for these reminders of the glorious way it feels to see that where the heart of our company is does make a difference.

Jon shared these stories with me, and I was happy to join in the thrill of this part of the ride!

~ One of our employees has 4 young boys. Yesterday, one of her boy's lungs collapsed. Needless to say, she wouldn't make it to work today. Jon had the privilege of dropping off LC balloons and some dinner (Pizza!Pizza! :)). She tried to give Jon the hospital paperwork to prove where she was. She wanted to assure him that she'd be back tomorrow. Jon replied that he didn't need the papers, and to just call in the morning to let them know how her son was and if she'd be in. To us, this seems like common courtesy. How or why would we respond any other way? To this mom, it meant the world. She was visibly moved by the whole encounter, and was so grateful. How amazing to share just a tiny sliver of Christ's love and compassion!

~ Luke and Jon had noticed an employee who has been working very hard, and who had done an especially good job today. Jon had the opportunity to call him after his shift to thank him for a job well-done. He got to tell him that the pizzas he had helped prep were looking great. Yes, there is a way the pizzas are meant to look and you can tell the quality of the dough/crust. :) They were able to offer him to come in with his family to get dinner on the house. While he had to be somewhere else this evening, he was very appreciative of the call and gesture. How wonderful to be able to encourage this guy!
