Countdown

Nana and Papa have invited us to go to Florida with them in about a month.  Other than the fact that Jon won't be able to join us :( , the kids and I are really excited!  Lily and Eli can't wait to get their little toes back in sand, to splash in the ocean and find shells.  Kaylee B. will get her first ocean experience.  This makes me glad, because the girl asks me on occasion if the pool is an ocean.  She has no idea what awaits her!  She knows she is waiting for something awesome though. Every.single.time. I load her in the car she asks, "Are we going to the beach?!?"  When I try to tell her it will be a few weeks she gets disappointed (every.eingle.time) and says, "But you SAID we could go to the beach!"  Note to self: keep all things secret until 5 seconds before they happen.

It is important to me that our kids experience and enjoy God's creation.  Not to worship nature, but for the way it points us to the mighty, powerful, creative God who spoke it all into being.  Won't the ginormous ocean, countless grains of sand, shore birds, and crabs be an amazing testimony to the Creator?!  Oh to stand and feel so small by the vast Gulf, but know that God is gently and lovingly mindful of us!

Psalm 8

How Majestic Is Your Name
To the choirmaster: according to The Gittith.  A Psalm of David.
 1O LORD, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!
You have set your glory above the heavens.
2Out of the mouth of babies and infants,
you have established strength because of your foes,
to still the enemy and the avenger.
3When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars, which you have set in place,
4what is man that you are mindful of him,
and the son of man that you care for him?
5Yet you have made him a little lower than the heavenly beings
and crowned him with glory and honor.
6You have given him dominion over the works of your hands;
you have put all things under his feet,
7all sheep and oxen,
and also the beasts of the field,
8the birds of the heavens, and the fish of the sea,
whatever passes along the paths of the seas.
 9O LORD, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!
