Chihuly inspired art project

I have been so excited for our Cheekwood passes and have been impressed as I searched their site and found some neat educational materials.  One project we found was imitating Chihuly's Macchia (unable to create a link to a photo for some reason...you can Google that to see what the real ones look like) using coffee filters, markers, and spray starch.  We all had fun with this one and enjoyed a colorful center piece for our table. : )
1. Color the coffee filters with water-based markers.

2.  Stick filters in cups leaving the edge of the filters hanging out of the cups.  Lightly spray with starch.
 3.  Once the filters are dry, remove them from the cups and enjoy. : )
